Most of beginners who tried to make money online concentrate a lot on the end result which is either earn money or achieve personal freedom. However, when the result is not as per what they expected (i.e failed to make money online or not as easy as they thought), they frustrated and further lead to completely give up. I myself also facing the same problem as most of the beginner do.
I started to try to make money online in 2007 through selling some silver jewelry at Lelong.com.my, one of the most popular auction sites at Malaysia. I feel very excited because I earn some money from that and learn quite a lot of new knowledge from it. I quite enjoy the learning process instead of the end result make money online. However, I jump to eBay and try to make money online through the world biggest auction site after I saw the earning figure shown by those eBay Power Seller. It end up earn nothing and loss money (after deduct the bill) to eBay insert fee, final value fee and etc due to not enough experience and without proper research the market.
From there start, I start to concentration more on the end result which is to make money online instead of the process or what can I learn. I forget about the joy of learning new thing especially on make money online. After a while, my concentration jump to affiliate marketing after read through those so called internet guru ebook which promising that easily earn large amount of money by pushing the magic button. I spend quite a lot of money to purchase those so called secret of make money online. From this ebook to that ebook (Just like frog politician in Malaysia jump from this party to that party) looking for the magic button to make money online. My mind completed is blinded by the end result which I aiming for. I completely forget to enjoy the process of make money online.
Eventually I feel frustrated because I focus too much on to make lot money online and I failed to do so. I feel want to give up. However, after reading one of the emails forward by my wife (Thanks to her email and adviceJ) mentioning that: “Achieving your target or goal might not necessary make you happy, what important is the process of achieving your goal, what can or what did you learn? How do you overcome the obstacle that you facing on the way of achieving your goal? Those are the things that make you feel abundant instead of achieving the goal.”
It completely wakes me up or pulls me out from the maze of make money online. I realize that if I continue focusing the end result instead of the process definitely I will feel bad, frustrated and give up very soon. Therefore, start from that moment I decided to focus on what I can learn through the process of make money online. I want to share the thing that I learn and how I overcome the obstacle that I faced. Please don’t get me wrong, I dint mean that focus to your goal (i.e. make money online and etc) is not good, goals act as a guideline when you loss. However, too much focus on the goal also will make you loss as what I facing before.
You might want to ask: How much money you make online? Friendly speaking until now I haven make a single cent from internet. However, I believe I can and I will not give up. Is only a matter of time before I achieve my goals. What I need to do now is to feel grateful on what I can learn through the process of make money online. Feel grateful on the obstacle that I facing as it is part of the process of achieving my goals. I believe that every person have to capability to achieve their goal as long as they believe they can and willing to learn and action.
